This can't be the right date, as it precedes my recent FAX date by more than a year.  The postmark was February 28, 2001 and I will assume this to be the correct date to maintain an accurate chronological placement of this letter.

Dear Axel:

I regret to read that you are not satisfied with the performance or your 1989 BMW 750iL.

It is difficult, from this location, to explain why these components have failed.  The actual longevity of any given part is dependent on a number of factors; including care, maintenance, use and climate.  During the life of a vehicle, items may have to be replaced dues to mechanical failure, or normal wear and tear.  Of course this explanation does not relieve the inconvenience or expense of dealing with problems when they arise.

Your vehicle, when new, came with a 3 year 36,000 mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty.  Unfortunately, at this time, your car has far exceeded the warranty parameters.

Sincerely,
